Sunday’s absence will mark the first time in nine year, his Hall of Fame career in which he will miss a game through injur. The only time he has missed a game or two in his career was in 2017, when a contract dispute caused him to sit out Week 1, and he rested Week 17.
This season, Donald has recorded 49 tackles (10 for loss), five sacks and one forced fumble in 11 games. The All-Pro flirted with retirement in the offseason after winning Super Bowl LVI before the Rams convinced him to come back with a three-year, $95 million extension.
Los Angeles’ bid for a repeat has fallen flat in 2022, with injuries and a lack of depth tanking their chances of remaining competitive. At 3-8, their season is all but finished with little hope in sight.

A dynamic do-it-all talent in college, Hadl went on to become one of the American Football League’s elite quarterbacks with the Chargers.
Hadl played 11 seasons for San Diego before stints with the Rams, Packers and Oilers to close out his phenomenal career.
Hadl, who was a backup on the Chargers’ 1963 AFL Championship team, led the league in passing thrice in his career, which he concluded with 33,503 yards passing, 244 touchdown passes, 1,112 yards rushing, 16 rushing scores and an 82-75-9 record as a starting QB. He was also the 1971 NFL Man of the Year.

His days at Kansas would lead him to the College Hall of Fame and to being selected No. 10 overall in the 1962 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions and in the third round of the 1962 AFL Draft by the Chargers. Hadl chose the Chargers and proved to be a splendid fit for Sid Gillman’s squad.

He would be traded again, this time in an infamous transaction in which Packers head coach Dan Devine sent five draft picks to the Rams to acquire Hadl, who went 7-12 as a starter in Green Bay with nine touchdowns to 29 interceptions. The trade proved to be essential, however, in the Rams building up a roster that achieved great success throughout the 1970s.
Hadl ended his NFL playing career with the Oilers primarily as a backup, but would go on to be an NFL assistant for the Rams and Broncos before two seasons as the head coach of the USFL’s Los Angeles Express.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur Expects QB Aaron Rodgers (Ribs) To Play Sunday Vs. Bears
Despite battling a rib injury, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Tuesday he planned to be on the field on Sunday against the Bears.
Head coach Matt LaFleur reflected the same expectations as his QB one day later.
When asked by reporters on Wednesday if he expects Rodgers to play in Week 13, LaFluer gave a short answer: “Yes.” Although Rodgers won’t practice on Wednesday, LaFluer told reporters that he expects his 38-year-old signal-caller to practice at some point this week.
In his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers revealed his scans came back clean after taking a hit between two Eagles defenders during Sunday night’s loss to the Eagles. “I got good news with the scans yesterday, so I plan on playing this week,” Rodgers said on Tuesday.
With Rodgers exiting the game in the third quarter, third-year QB Jordan Love came on in relief. Rodgers finished the game with 140 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, while Love completed 6 of 9 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown.
As for the Packers’ opponent, the Bears are also dealing with injuries at the QB position. Justin Fields, who missed Week 12, is dealing with a shoulder injury and practiced in a limited capacity, and Trevor Siemian (oblique) will not practice, per head coach Matt Eberflus.
The Bears also signed QB Tim Boyle off the Lions’ practice squad on Wednesday.
LaFleur said Wednesday that the Packers are preparing as if they’ll face Fields on Sunday.
Falcons TE Kyle Pitts Undergoes Knee Surgery, Out For Rest Of 2022 Season
Kyle Pitts’ journey back to the field began Wednesday with surgery to repair his torn MCL.
The Falcons tight end underwent the operation and posted a photo from his hospital bed following surgery:
Pitts suffered the knee injury in Atlanta’s Week 11 win over Chicago, exiting early in the third quarter. An MRI revealed the severity of Pitts’ injury, leading to his season-ending surgery.
Falcons coach Arthur Smith told reporters Wednesday the team is not concerned about Pitts’ timetable for return for the 2023 season.
After breaking 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie, Pitts struggled to get going for most of 2022, finishing with 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns.
Atlanta’s offensive approach certainly didn’t help Pitts, as the Falcons willingly abandoned the pass in multiple games this season in order to give themselves the best chance of victory with Marcus Mariota at quarterback.
Pitts will begin a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation period following his surgery with the goal of returning for 2023. Atlanta (5-7) will proceed without him until then.
